Altún la Cicatera from Bodegas Altún, is a single-plot wine that is made using the traditional system with destemmed grapes, or separation of grain and stem, with temperature control and subsequent maceration for 15 days in storage. Altún La Cicatera comes from a plot of soil and unique climatic conditions, which make this Garnacha a very special and friendly wine, like all the wines made by the Altún family. It has been aged for 9 months in French oak barrels and later refined in concrete eggs for later bottling.

Crianza red wine made with Tempranillo (90%), Garnacha (5%) and 5% of other native varieties exclusively grown in Rioja Alavesa. After a manual harvest, the destemmed grapes have been selected grain by grain, using selection tables by vibration and weight. Long macerations and intracellular fermentations with natural pumping over and final extraction by gravity. The aging phase lasts 14 months in French and American oak barrels.
